EXCLUSIVE: Newly-appointed Medeama coach Owusu to decide Evans Adotey's future

Newly-appointed Medeama coach Prince Owusu will decide the future of Augustine Evans Adotey, GHANAsoccernet.com can exclusively reveal.

The former Tema Youth trainer penned a two-year deal with the club on Monday to replace Carlos Roberto Paullete.

However, Adotey claimed this week that he remains the head coach of the side after receiving assurances from President Moses Armah.

The club has disbanded the entire technical and management team in a massive restructuring exercise but the Ghana female Under-17 coach is still hanging onto faint hopes of leading the side this season.

But GHANAsoccernet.com can reveal that Adotey will only be allowed to stay on if new trainer Prince Owusu agrees to have him as his assistant.

“Prince is our new coach and that’s the decision of the club,” Armah told GHANAsoccernet.com

“However, if he decides to make him (Adotey) an assistant, we’ll agree to that arrangement.

“But if he decides otherwise, then he  must look elsewhere.

“We have a nice relationship with Adotey over the years but his engagement with the national teams have always come in our way.

“We want to change that this season and the years ahead. It’s the decision of Prince if he stays or otherwise.”

Medeama are determined to return to the top of Ghana football after escaping relegation at the end of last season.
