The Parliamentary Select Committee on Youth and Sports, chaired by Kobina Woyome will be meeting the Emergency Committee of the Ghana Football Association over the delay in the start of the 2015/16 Ghana Premier League, GHANAsoccernet.com can confirm.
The Committee will also engage the FA in a discussion on how to handle the numerous legal issues that have plagued the league making its start an uncertainty despite the 20th February kickoff date.
The league which was expected to start in November 2015 has still not seen the light of day after legal issues involving Techiman City and Wa African United as well as Dreams FC and Tema Youth FC.
The Parliamentary Select Committee have seen it as a great responsibility to engage the handlers of football in the country to look for an amicable settlement to ensure the league kicks off without further legal battles in the system.
Sources close to the Parliamentary Select Committee disclosed to GHANAsoccernet.com that members of the Emergency Committee have confirmed the meeting.
President of the Ghana FA, Kwesi Nyantakyi, vice President George Afriyie as well as the other three members of the Emergency Committee with the acting General Secretary are expected to be in attendance.
