Spanish segunda division outfit Real Oviedo are on the verge of announcing the capture of Ghanaian midfielder Richard Boateng.

Ghana's leading football website, GHANAsoccernet.com exclusively reported two weeks ago that the former Liberty Professionals enforcer is inching closer to a move to Spanish second-tier side Real Oviedo after the club reached agreement with Union Deportiva Melilla.

Reports from Spain indicate that the 25-year-old is set to undergo a routine medical in the coming days and will be officially unveiled as the first signing of Los Azules.

Boateng joined UD Melilla at the start of the just ended Spanish season from Extremadura UD.

He went on to make 35 appearances for Melilla in the Spanish third tier this campaign including 25 starts, scoring an impressive 14 goals in the process- one of which was voted the best of the season in Group IV of Segunda B.
