Spanish La Liga side Deportivo La Coruna are leading the race to land highly-rated Ghana starlet Agbenyenu Lumor who is set to leave Portuguese giants FC Porto, GHANAsoccernet.com can exclusively confirm.

Deportivo officials are set for a meeting with the representatives of the player next week and are poised to reach an agreement for the transfer of the 19-year-old.

The former UniStar Academy product won the Portuguese Junior League with FC Porto B last season and is ready for a new challenge.

"I can confirm for certain that I will leave FC Porto this season and join a new club but there have been a number of interests so my club in Ghana is handling it," he told GHANAsoccernet.com.

Though Lumor was not able to gatecrash the Porto squad last season, his exploits with the U19 in domestic and European action drew big interests from several clubs.

Deportivo will be hoping to seal the deal and secure the youngster's signature as Celta de Vigo are also reportedly interested in signing the wunderkind whose quality has been likened to Chelsea star Christian Atsu.

Lumor's versatility allows him to play in various attacking and defensive roles on either flanks.
