Sulley Muntari's father phoned Moses Armah on Saturday morning to offer his grovelling apology over his son's despicable physical attack on the Ghana FA official at the 2014 World Cup after receiving the full and truthful account of what transpired before the AC Milan star's unprovoked punches on the Medeama SC club owner.

Alhaji Sulley Muniru spoke to the Ghana FA Executive Committee member on phone on Saturday morning to for forgiveness about the incident that saw his son sacked from the Ghana camp.

The AC Milan star attacked Armah, who owns Ghana Premier League club Medeama SC, during a meeting meant to resolve a row over the delayed payment of appearance fee to the players.

Despite a spin claiming that Muntari had questioned the number of officials on the team, Alhaji Muniru was independently told of how Armah had begged the players to listen to the advice of the country's President John Mahama after he had promised of the payment of their appearance fees before the AC Milan man asked him to 'shut up'.

Muntari's then moved towards Armah, striking him twice with a punch in the face, before getting a retaliatory dose which spiraled out of control with Muntari later storming the official's room to destroy some valuables.

The 29-year-old who had been one of the best performing Ghana players at the World Cup in Brazil was sent home the following morning after being handed an indefinite suspension from the Black Stars.

Muntari is yet to apologize for his unprovoked attack but his father spoke to a member of the Black Stars squad who is a close family friend who revealed all the details of what happened.

Alhaji Muniru never hesitated to call the aggrieved high ranking Ghana FA official who is very well connected in the country and had vowed to take action in Ghana following further threats from the AC Milan star.

Alhaji Muniru who has always played a peace-making role whenever his son messes up in the Black Stars camp appealed to Armah to let go of his anger following the unfortunate incident.

He also asked for forgiveness on behalf of his son and assured such a thing will never happen again.

Alhaji Muniru, who is a chief in the Muslim community in Koforidua, has promised to visit the mining millionaire businessman in his home in Accra to apologise further when he arrives.
