Tommy Moller Nielsen watching on as Kotoko succumbed to a 3-1 defeat to AshantiGold in the Otumfuo Cup.

Danish coach Tommy Moller Nielsen is close to being named Asante Kotoko technical director job after watch the side’s 3-1 defeat to AshantiGold at the Baba Yara Stadium on Sunday.

The former Rangers and Aberdeen coach arrived in Kumasi on Thursday but the club have vehemently denied the expatriate in in town because of a coaching job.

But being spotted in the stands has fuelled speculations of his imminent appointment.

Moller was in the company of Dr. Kwaku Frimpong of Champion Divine Clinic, a Kotoko benefactor.

Kotoko’s capitulation at home has helped matters as early goals from Tijani Joshua, Shafiu Mumuni and Eric Opoku gave the visitors the 2015 Otumfuo Cup.

Obed Owusu scored Kotoko’s consolation in the 74th minute.
