George Afriyie blasts World Cup commissioner Foh-Amoaning, insists he must shut up
Indignant PCI member Moses Foh-Amoaning

George Afriyie has launched a scathing attack on a member of the 2014 World Cup Commission insisting his posturing since the release of their report is akin to a judge jumping to the media to defend his ruling.

The Ghana FA vice president blasted Moses Foh-Amoaning for seeking to have a hand in the appeal of the GFA and its officials over the report slamming it as 'crude' and 'against the law'.

Afriyie added that Foh-Amoaning's consistent appearance on radio to defend their report betrays the uneasiness over the decision to pin down the federation at all cost.

Afriyie seems to have angered by claims of the member of the Presidential Commission of Inquiry (PCI) that the GFA and its officials have no grounds for the appeal against the ruling of the commission.

The PCI was set up by President John Dramani Mahama to investigate the cause of the abysmal performance of the Black Stars at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

The Commission's ruling has been challenged by the GFA at the Court of Appeal but Foh-Amoaning took to the media this week claiming that there is no basis for an appeal and that the Commission must still have a hand in the appeal process.

But the Vice President of the Ghana FA in response to his calls questioned the interest of Foh-Amoaning after submitting their report to government.

“What is Foh-Amianing’s problem at all? I don’t understand him. He appears to be personalizing the whole work of the Commission and Ghanaians are watching,” George said in an interview on Happy FM in Accra.

“I am really surprised at his posture. What I know is that after submitting their report to the government, their work ends there. So what is Moses’ problem?

“Does he think he knows better than what the laws of Ghana have prescribed? He should give us a break because he has now made it clear that they had an agenda for what they were doing,” George added.

In another interview Afriyie said: "I have not seen any where in this world where a judge gives his ruling and then consistently goes to the media to defend his decision. This is crude.

"A judge gives a ruling on a case and then after his ruling he wants to again have a hand in the process of the appeal against his decision. This is against the law as there would be no justice in this."

Many football commentators have also questioned the interest of the Commissioner Moses Foh-Amoaning in his latest pronouncements after he publicly described the FA’s appeal as baseless.
