Abeiku Ainooson is the MTN FA Cup Best Player

Asante Kotoko defender Abeiku Ainooson says he is inspired to take his game to the next level having been named the Best Player of the 2013/14 MTN FA Cup season.

The 23-year-old emerged the grand winner of this year’s FA Cup awards ceremony heled at the State Banquet Hall in Accra on Saturday night.

Ainooson beat the competition of top scorer Elvis Opoku, Premier League MVP Augustine Okrah and his own teammate Issa Yakubu to win the flagship award.

He also completed a brace of awards by clinching the Best Defender of the competition as well.

But the ex New Edubiase stopper says he wants to do more in the coming season to prove his achieved accolades were no fluke.

“I am very happy to win these awards but I want to do even more this season to prove that I deserve them,” he told

“I want to thank everyone at Kotoko – the playing body and coaches who gave me a lot of confidence during the season.

“It is amazing where I am now in my career and I hope it gets even better from the coming season.”

Ainooson played for Ghana at the 2014 CHAN tournament staged in South Africa where the home-based Black Stars team finished as runner’s up to Libya.

Thumb up for Ainonson.when you get up there remember there is a nation call Ghana who once upon a time took you to CHAN where your skills were exposed. The likes of Muntari and Essien should bow their heads in shame. As for KPB the least said about him the better. We said time and again that the guy only likes to play in the world cup for Ghana and nothing else. Some of us who have learnt difficult subject in the university to become Engineers can never get the opportunity for the national anthem to be played for us but ESSIEN and Muntari who could never have had the opportunity to ever go close to the flag staff house can now refuse to receive a call from the president. But I don't blame them on that occasion cos of the bad nature of the presidency that we currently have

He is better than any of the current Blackstar defenders.
