Some fans of Swedish side BK Hacken are calling for the side to be renamed Hacken Black Stars following the exploits of two Ghanaian players at the club.

Striker Abdul Majeed Waris and his compatriot Nasiru Mohammed have steered the little-fancied club to second on the top of the Swedish top-flight.

Now the fans are asking for the club to be renamed to reflect the nickname of the Ghana national team which is the Black Stars.

The fans have already been showing banners with ‘Hacken Black Stars’ written on it during their matches.

Waris is the leading scorer in Sweden and his 17 goals so far this season have helped the club to go second.

Mohammed joined the club last month and has scored four goals in three matches.

    WOOWWW!!!!!!
Ghana Black Stars is well respected all over the world. Akwasi Appiah must always try to select the best players for all our matches, losing to teams like Zambia or Liberia is unthinkable.
