Young Ghanaian broadcaster Benedict Owusu was crowned the best sporting journalist at the 20th Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) Awards held over the weekend.

Owusu, who works with one of Ghana’s leading radio station, Joy FM, scooped the award for his fabulous piece on age cheating.

The fascinating documentary exposed the country’s age-long problem of age-cheating in the sport which has had crippling effect on youth development in recent times.

The budding journalist is fast building a reputation for himself in the growing industry as he commands massive respect among his peers.

The ever-smiling and humble young journalist holds a degree from Ghana’s Premier Communication University, the Ghana Institute of Journalism.
