Fatau Dauda: AshGold claim Ghana shot-stopper is on his way back to the club after cancelling Chippa United contract

Ghana Premier League side AshGold have revealed goalkeeper Fatau Dauda is heading back to the club after cancelling his contract with South African Premier Soccer League side Chippa United. 

The 28-year-old 2014 Ghana World Cup goalkeeper's inconsistency in South Africa was highlighted once more he cancelled his contract with Chippa United less than a month after joining them from Orlando Pirates.

Dauda moved the club over playing time issues and was expected command a first team place at the club however, after an unimpressive debut and failing to win back his position after the international break, the former AshGold goalie decided to end his contract.

And, the Miners boss Kodjo Fianoo has revealed he would be heading back to the club.

"The Transfer window has not yet closed and so Dauda could be here. However, I'm not the coach so I can't say he's going to be our number one," he told Accra-based Happy FM.

Dauda moved from AshGold to South African side Orlando Pirates two seasons ago but failed to garner enough playing time with the Buccaneers forcing him to leave for Chippa in August.
