Ex-Board Member of Hearts of Oak Alhajià à Fawad Zouk wants a number of players to be sacked to safeguard their future.
The 2000 African Champions lost out on the Premier League title race to rivals Asante Kotoko after finishing third.
Hearts have lost the spark that made them fearful on the continent in the past.
There have been widespread calls for a total overhaul of the team before they can recapture their lost glory and the outspoken football administrator feels most of the long-standing players must give way to fresh legs.
ââ¬ÅMost of these players are becoming a financial burden on the club and the earlier we sack them, the better it will be for us,â⬠Zouk is quoted by 90 Minutes newspaper
ââ¬ÅMost of them are simply not performing and should be told to look elsewhere.
ââ¬ÅLook at Kotoko for instance, they got rid of most of the non-performing players and brought in players who were hungry for success and won the League with ease.
ââ¬ÅWe need to sit down and make sure that all those players who have spent more than five years at the club and are not performing are shown the door for young ones to be given the chance to take the club forward.
He added: ââ¬ÅHearts of Oak is a big club so there is no time for experiment and second chances. Second chances donââ¬â¢t win League. Do they?
ââ¬ÅIf I had my way not less than 35 players will be sacked for fresh faces to be brought in.
ââ¬ÅI know itââ¬â¢s too early and CK is has travelled so I wonââ¬â¢t mention names. We are still in the FA Cup and who knows we might end the season with a trophy after all.
ââ¬ÅBut at the right time, I will come out names of players who need to be sacked irrespective of their status and the number of years theyââ¬â¢ve spent with us,ââ¬
