Ghana winger Ishmael Yartey is on the road to full recovery from a knee injury as he has began gym work after rejoining FC Sion.

The FC Sochaux loanee will begin running and light ball works on Monday after a three week period of inactivity after receiving a medical injection on his right knee in mid-December.

The 23-year-old 2007 Ghana U17 star rejoined FC Sion on Wednesday following his Christmas holiday break in Ghana and has gone straight to work to get him prepared for the second round of the Swiss Super League.

Yartey, who has been the standout player at Sion this season, suffered a nagging knee problem in October received a medical injection on his right knee in mid-December to correct the problem.

Sion manager Laurent Roussey is hoping to have his most influential player available before the resumption of the Super League in February as they seek to improve their status in the league.
