FC Sion striker Ebenezer Assifuah is backing his former club – Liberty Professionals – to get the vital one point to ensure their survival in the Ghana Premier League.

The Dansoman-based club go into the final round of matches in the Ghanaian top flight needing just a point to avoid relegation.

Liberty will however be playing away from home against Wa All Stars in the final game on Wednesday while their closest contenders – King Faisal and Aduana Stars play at home.

But Assifuah who moved to Sion from Liberty Professionals in 2013 believes his former club have what it takes to get the vital point that will see them cross the borderline.

“One point is all that is needed for Liberty to remain in the Ghana Premier League,” he told Metro FM.

“But it will not come easy as they will be playing away from home in their final league match.

“But I believe the boys will not disappoint especially with what is at stake.”
