Fellaini suffers hamstring injury

Manchester United's Marouane Fellaini has been ruled out of tonights Europa League game against FC Midtjylland and must await further tests to establish the full extent of his injury.

The 28-year-old is returning to Manchester today to undergo more tests from the Red Devils medical staff, after initially being examined by Belgium national team physio Lieven Maeschalck. It is believed the injury may keep the midfielder out for several weeks, which would be another blow to United with 13 players currently on their injury list.

One of those 13 players is influential captain Wayne Rooney, however Van Gaal has rejected claims his team lack options up front, 'No, I don’t think that’s the case. We have Martial, another striker...I called Will Keane back and he has done very good in the second team. That is at a lower level, but sometimes you have to show it at a higher level and now he has the chance.'
