Turkish giants Fenerbahce could upstage rivals Besiktas and sign Ghana defender Daniel Opare on a permanent basis.

Fenerbahce coach Ismail Kartal has identified the right-back as a replacement for Gokhan Gonul who was unimpressive this term.

Opare, on loan at Besiktas, is valued at €2 million by his parent club FC Porto.

He has scored once and assisted two goals in 12 appearances for Besiktas in the current season.

Opare joined FC Porto after the 2014 FIFA World Cup campaign with Ghana but failed to make a single league appearance for the 27-time Portuguese champions due to injury.
