FIFA confirms Frimpong nationality switch approval

Fifa have confirmed the nationality switch of Emmanuel Frimpong from England to  Ghana.

The wish of the 20-year-old hard tackling midfielder came to fruition after the world governing body, cleared him to play for the West African giants.

“"The Single Judge of FIFA's Players' Status Committee yesterday confirmed the change of association of Emmanuel Frimpong - England to Ghana." FIFA tweeted on Wednesday.

The approval couldn’t have come at a better time as Ghana prepare to take part in the 2013 African Cup of Nations to be held in South Africa next year.

The Arsenal star, on loan at Charlton Athletic is now in line to play for the Black Stars at the continental showpiece.

Frimpog becomes the fourth Ghanaian to switch nationalities after featuring for a European nation at youthful stages following the lijes of Adam Kwarseey, Quincy Owusu-Abeyie and Kevin-Prince Boateng.
