Fifa confirms Ghana squad, jersey numbers for Womens U-20 World Cup

Fifa has confirmed Ghana’s 21-member squad and their numbers for the 2012 Womens U-20 World Cup in Japan.

Skipper Mercy Myles will be spotting the number 6 jersey while Priscilla Saahene and striker Florence Dadson don the number 10 and 20 jersey respectively.

New entrant Candice Osei-Agyemang who makes the squad to add some bite to the Princesses attack will be wearing the number 19.

The team have been camping in the US for the past two weeks in preparation for their second consecutive appearance at the finals.

The Black Princesses open their World Cup account against heavyweight’s USA in Hiroshima on August 20.

They then play Germany three days later before wrapping up their Group D campaign against China on August 27.

Below is the Ghana squad and their numbers:

Goalkeepers: Patrcia Mantey (1) , Nana Asantewaa (16) and Margaret Otoo (21)

Defenders: Rebecca Asante (2), Grace Adams (3), Cynthia Yiadom (4), Rosemary Ampem (5), Linda Addai (7), Janet Agyir (12) and Faustina Amah (14).

Midfielders: Mercy Myles (6), Elizabeth Addo (8), Priscilla Saahene (10), Deborah Afriyie (11), Jennifer Cudjoe (13), Mary Essuful (15) and Beatrice Sesu (18).

Strikers: Alice Dano (9), Veronica Appiah (17), Candice Osei-Agyemang (19) and Florence Dadson (20).
