Ghana coach Sellas Tetteh is delighted his charges punched above their weight to upstage Argentina 3-2 in a second Group B clash at the FIFA U20 World Cup on Tuesday.

The Black Satellites played an enthralling match to outwit the young Albiceleste and took a 3-0 lead by the 69th minute.

But the South American rallied a launched a late assault and reduced the deficit by scoring two goals.

The win sent Ghana on top of the Group ahead of Austria-who are tied on four points- on goal difference.

Tetteh paid tribute to his personnel for an improved performance which ensured they are now in contention for progressing to the first knockout round.

“The first couple of matches at a tournament are always tough. We analysed the Austria game in detail and did a much better job today,” Tetteh said.

“Our minimum target is still to reach the semi-finals, and it won’t be difficult to achieve that if we can continue to deliver the kind of performance we produced today.”

Ghana's final Group match is against Panama on Friday at the North Harbour Stadium in Auckland.
