Fiorentina and Genoa negotiate swap deal

Published on: 18 January 2016

Fiorentina and Genoa are believed to be in discussions over a swap deal, which would see Viola forward Giuseppe Rossi head to the Stadio Luigi Ferraris, in exchange for Grifone defender Sebastian De Maio.

The two clubs are both looking to strengthen their sides over the January transfer window, with the Rossoblu seeking to survive relegation and Fiorentina pursuing Champions League qualification.

According to Tuttomercatoweb.com, Genoa regard Rossi as a replacement for the outgoing Diego Perotti who looks to be close to a move to Roma.

However, to sign the Italy international the Grifone will have to let go of De Maio who is seen as the right centre-back to bolster Paulo Sousa’s defensive options in Florence.

Fiorentina were also interested in defender Armando Izzo, but the Rossoblu are unwilling to let go of their highly-rated Italian.
