Beleaguered Ashantigold coach Bashir Hayford says he not worried about the possibility of being sacked after watching his side lose grounds in the Ghana Premier League title race.

Pressure has mounted on Hayford after he saw his side battered 4-1 at regional rivals Asante Kotoko last Sunday.

The miners have gone six matches without a win to keep their slim chances of recapturing the Premier League crown.

The former Medeama trainer is under intense pressure from fans to quit but he insists he does not fear being axed.

“I am not afraid of being sacked. Coaches are hired to be fired and so I’m not afraid at all,” he said

“We are working to turn around our dwindling fortunes but to say I’m afraid is far from it.”

Hayford is the current coach of the country’s female U20 coach.
