Free State Stars goalkeeper Daniel Agyei has declared himself fit to fight for a spot in Ghana’s World Cup squad.

He has returned to training after a hernia operation but yet to feature for his relegation-threatened side.

Agyei was on the bench when Ghana lost 2-1 to Egypt in Cairo in the return leg of the 2014 FIFA World Cup playoff.

He was left out of the squad that lost 1-0 to Montenegro last Wednesday but says he is fit to fight for a place in Kwesi Appiah’s squad.

"I am feeling really comfortable after I recovered from the injury and I am in good shape," the former Liberty Professionals player told Power FM.

"For me I am always ready to give my best to the Black Stars more so now that I am fit.

"All that I am praying for is that the coach looks to my direction and give me a chance to stake a claim again.”

Agyei started 14 Absa Premiership matches for Free State Stars before his injury and was first choice.
