Ghana defender Rashid Sumaila was an unused substitute in Mamelodi Sundowns’ 2-0 win over Golden Arrows on Wednesday.

The centre half has just returned from a hamstring injury but was left on the bench for the midweek Premier League match.

The 21-year-old has been key to Sundowns’ season so far since arriving from Asante Kotoko at the beginning of the season.

The Ghana international has played 12 out of 17 games for Pitso Mosimane’s side.

Sumaila’s consistent displays earned him his first call up and debut appearance for the Black Stars during the World Cup qualifiers.
