Berekum Chelsea suffered their worst defeat of the season in a 5-1 reverse at Liberty Professionals on Wednesday.

The afternoon belonged to Liberty striker Ebenezer Assafuah who scored fours goals in the big win at the Sly Tetteh Park in Dansoman.

The visitors were on cloud nine going into the match after a 2-0 home win over Asante Kotoko last Sunday.

Ghana U20 striker Assafuah scored twice before Kwame Boahene made it 3-0 at half-time.

Just after the break, Assafuah registered his hat-trick with a powerful shot from inside the box.

He headed in the fifth goal after goalkeeper John Moosie failed to deal with a cross from the left. Midfielder Joseph Ato Bissah got a consolation for Berekum Chelsea who slipped from the top to third place.
