Black Starlets win 4-Nation Tourney in Namibia

Ghana U17 beat German regional side Westphalia for the second consecutive time to win the four nation tournament in Nambia with a 2-1 win.

The Black Starlets opened the scoring in the 24th minute through Sulley Ibrahim who connected excellently to cement their strength on the tournament.

Unfortunately the leading goal scorer of the tournament, David Cudjoe got injured and had to be substitute in the game before it ended.

He was replaced by Rashid Alhassan.

The Germans identified him as the danger man and whacked him left right and centre and instead of him to be releasing the balls he was also holding on to the ball.

The 2nd half started with Ghana clearly going for an insurance goal.

However the team had to wait until the 64th minute when Rashid Alhassan robbed the goalkeeper of the ball and shot into an empty net.

Prior to that Ghana had wasted several chances with Eric Ayiah and Emmanuel Toku as the chief culprits.

In the 75th minute Westphalia pulled one back to make it 2-1.

Ghana then ended the tournament with four wins in four matches to emerge winners.
