Obed Owusu is at the centre of the brewing controversy

Kotoko assistant coach Michael Osei has warned rivals Hearts to focus on avoid relegation and stop seeking for points from the boardroom as the capital side readies to file eligibility protest.

Hearts will reportedly file a protest on Monday seeking to accrue the maximum points with claims Kotoko striker Obed Owusu was ineligible to play during their 2-1 reverse at the Accra sports stadium.

While Hearts claim they have substantial evidence to back their claim, Kotoko insist they did no wrong, calling on their supporters to remain calm in the midst of the raging controversy.

The club’s assistant coach Michael Osei has urged their opponent to fight on the pitch to survive rather than resorting to boardroom points.

“I will urge them to focus on their survival push and stop attempting to get points from the boardroom,” he told Accra-based Kasapa FM

“It’s not going to wash because Kotoko is a big club and will not make such an elementary mistake.

“They should focus on fighting to avoid the drop because they will not get any boardroom points.”

Hearts host Bechem United in their next game in Accra while their rivals will be close-by playing as guest of Inter Allies.
