Former Ghana defender Anthony Baffoe believes re-appointing Akwesi Appiah as the next Black Stars coach would be idle.

Pundist have earmarked the Al Khartoum coach as the favourite to succeed Israeli coach Avram Grant.

And following multiple reports in the media, Appiah and former France full back Willy Sagnol are the only two shortlisted by the six-member committee.

According to Baffoe, who together with Appiah were members of the Black Stars squad that lost the 1992 Africa Cup of Nations final to Ivory Coast, intimated that re-appointing his compatriot would not be a bad decision by the FA.

"Kwasi Appiah was my mate, somebody I like a lot , we get along very well and we all call him gentle capito," he told Joy FM.

"What I have seen and read is that he is one of the favourites, personally I will not go against him and this is one thing i can tell you and if there is something I wasn't satisfied with i will tell him.

"There have been a lot of returns in football and many other coaches as well so we have to wait and see."
