Former Ghana U17 captain Charles Boateng scored his second goal of the season for Avranches in the French third-tier league as they claimed a 4-1 away win over Chateauroux on Friday night.

The 25-year-old, who captained Ghana's U17 side at the 2005 FIFA U-17 World Championship in Peru, took the early three minutes of the second-half to score and put Avranches in a comfortable lead in an away game.

Farid Beziouen and Jamal Thiare had scored twice in the first-half to put the visitors in firm control before Boateng returned from the break to add his name to score-sheet - the second time he did that this season and his 9th career league goals.

Boateng played for Ghanaian Division One side Nania FC before he left the shores of Ghana to join for Dijon who were Ligue 2 contenders.

He then joined Avranches via Rouen.
