Former Hearts of Oak Board Secretary Ernest Thompson has ruled himself out to contest for the Ghana Football Association top seat.

Former Hearts of Oak board secretary Ernest Thompson has ruled himself out of the running to replace Kwesi Nyantakyi as Ghana Football Association President, insisting he's content with his achievements in football.

Nyantakyi announced that he will not contest for the nation's football governing body hot seat when his current tenure expires in 2019.

And Thompson's name has popped up as one of the suitable candidates to take up mantle when the 1st CAF Vice capo vacates the seat, but the astute lawyer blatantly ruled himself out of the running.

“No, no,  I have not really taught about that at all. Kwesi Nyantakyi has made his point clear for not contesting for 2019. It hasn’t got to that stage and I don’t think we should be talking about who take over,” he told Happy FM.

"There are issues at the FA, I know they are having a three day seminar and I’m supposed to join them but I doubt whether I can make it. I can’t talk about myself being an FA president. It has not even crossed my mind.”
