Former Kotoko striker Kofi Nti Boakye cancels Al Ahli Tripoli contract

Kofi Nti Boakye has left Libyan side Al Ahli Tripoli.

Former Asante Kotoko striker Kofi Nti Boakye has terminated his contract with Libyan side Al Ahli just five months into his contract.

Boakye signed a three-year deal with Tripoli-based side in August last year on a free transfer in a controversial move.

He was accused of playing a fast one on Kotoko by refusing a contract extension and going to sign for the North Africa side.

The 26-year-old pocketed US$ 900,000 with the club getting nothing.

The former Liberty Professionals and Heart of Lions striker suffered a lot of backlash for his ‘greedy’ move. understands the agent of the player is working hard to secure him a move into the Egyptian league.
