Former Ghana international and former West Ham United defender John Paintsil says the London-based club has too much quality to drop into the championship this season.

The Hammers are 14th on the league table with 38 points after playing 34 games.

They are still 6 games to end the season with an outside chance of finishing in the top ten if they win their remaining games and other results go their way.

The Ghanaian spent two seasons with the IRONS from 2006-2008 and still keeps tabs on the happening over there.

“I think that West Ham have grown very well since I was there and I am very happy to have played there,” Paintsil said

“This season has been challenging but there are factors to that one I am very certain that they will stay up.”

The Hammers will take on Stoke City at the Bet 365 stadium in their next league game.
