Fosa Juniors coach Bob Kootwijk concedes tough Aduana Stars battle

Head coach of Fosa Juniors Bob Kootwijk says they will try their best to overcome Aduana Stars in the CAF Confederation Cup, though he stated that he's unsure if the can achieve that dream.

The Madagascan side have been paired with Aduana Stars in a two-legged playoff for a place in the group stages of the CAF's second-tier club competition.

The Malagasy FA Cup holders, Fosa Juniors, who are making their debut in a CAF inter-club competition, have to get the better of Aduana Stars to make the group stages but their head trainer, Bob Kootwijk has cast doubt about his outfit's chances in the match.

“I’m not sure we can qualify. We will try our best and we will look forward to this. I don’t know if it’s the same [playing in Ghana from countries we’ve played]. We will be playing our own game” the Dutch coach told Kumasi based Oyerepa FM in an interview.

He added that, he has little knowledge of Aduana Stars, which isn’t a problem since he’s busily doing everything possible to gather information on them.

“I’m busy doing that and by the time we play them, we will know them more. We don’t have much experience but I don’t think it’s a problem. We’ve an intelligent team and we look forward to face teams in Africa,” he said.

“I [will] search for information and look at how they play. We [will] play our own game and we will see what will happen. We are now looking for logistics to come to Ghana,” coach Kootwijk ended.
