All four Ghanaian clubs Kotoko, Hearts of Oak, AshGold and Heart of Lions pencilled down for continental club competitions have confirmed their participation next year despite financial difficulties.

Giants Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Lions will plays in the CAF Champions league while Hearts of Oak and Ashanti Gold will plays in the second tier club competition, the Confederation Cup.

There were doubts whether these four clubs could muster the financial courage to play in Africa but by Wednesday's deadline all of them have confirmed their participation to boost the country's football image.

Kotoko and Hearts of Lions were the first to confirm their participation when they asked last week while Hearts and AshantiGold dithered.

But by Wednesday after consultations with their stakeholders confirmed they will play in the competitions.

Hearts of Oak placed third in the Premier League last term and after consultations with relevant stakeholders, the club’s hierarchy has decided to take part in continental competition.

AshGold made a U-turn and decided to participate in Africa.

The 2015 CAF Confederations Cup had been in limbo for the Obuasi-sde after they initially rebuffed attempts by the Ghana FA to get them to play after Inter Allies pulled out due to financial reasons.

But now the club’s Board of Directors have decided otherwise following consultations with the local municipal assembly and the traditional authorities in the area.

To this, AshGold are expected to make a formal request to the Ghana FA for financial support since cash remains a big issue.
