Evian TG defender Jonathan Mensah has been impressed with compatriot Jordan Ayewââ¬â¢s scoring form and says it is a massive boost for Ghana ahead of the 2014 World Cup finals.
The centre-back has been on the fringes since making a return from suspension two months ago but could not hold back praising the Sochaux striker.
Ayew, 22, scored last week for the second consecutive time in the French Ligue 1 and has now tallied three goals in 12 appearances for the club in January on loan.
Mensah believes the Olympique Marseille owned player is on the verge of recapturing his old form.
ââ¬ÅI have to mention my countryman Jordan Ayewââ¬â¢s recent goalscoring form. Heââ¬â¢s demonstrating the talent we all know he has at Sochaux,â⬠Mensah wrote in his monthly blog.
ââ¬ÅHis performances had been good prior to the goals but as with all strikers they live and breathe goals.
ââ¬ÅI am sure that the goals has given him the confidence which will carry him through till the end of the seasonâ⬦a plus for Ghana with the World Cup looming.ââ¬
