Franz Beckenbauer heaps praise on Andre Ayew

German legend Franz Beckenbauer has likened the ingenuity of Ghana winger Andre Ayew to that of his father and legend Abedi Pele.

The Kaizer said the 21-year-old is a direct carbon copy of three-time African Footballer of the Year after watching him in the Uefa Champions League on Wednesday night.

Andre scored a brace to help under-performing Olympique dispatch Dortmund 3-0 to consolidate their lead IN Group F.

Beckenbauer, 66, who guided Marseille to the final of 1990-91 European Cup finals said there is no difference between Andre and his father.

"Like father, like son. The kind of goal that marked his father Abedi Pele's excellence when I was a coach 20 years ago," Beckenbauer, who now acts as a football consultant for a German TV said.

Andre Ayew is widely tipped to for greatness by many pundits.
