Ghana and ex-Arsenal midfielder Emmanuel Frimpong has denied rejecting a move to play under ex-AC Milan star Gennaro Gattuso at Greek side OFI Crete.
The report claimed that Frimpong decided against moving to Greece despite having the opportunity of working alongside Gattuso, who was also a defensive midfielder.
But the Ghana international Frimpong says the report in the UK newspaper that is untrue.
“Just would like to say that I have not turned down a chance to work with Gattuso,†Frimpong posted on his Twitter page.
“He's a manager who can help me as he has played in my position before. I am in no rush to make a move.â€
Frimpong has been without a club following his release from Barnsley at the end of last season.
The 22-year-old, who helped establish popular clothing brand Dench alongside UK rapper Lethal Bizzle, has also recently failed to agree a contract at Strum Graz.
The midfielder had a three week trial at Austrian club but couldn’t agree on a contract.
