French side Bordeaux have targeted Lorient attacker Jordan Ayew as a potential replacement for reported Newcastle United target Diego Rolan.

The Ghana striker, who plays for rival French club Lorient is keen on moving from the lowly-rated Ligue 1 club after excelling last season.

The French outfit Bordeaux have dominated the headlines in France this week as speculation over their star attacker Diego Rolan gathers pace amid reports of a potential switch to the Premier League.

As per an article in the Chronicle two weeks ago, Newcastle United were credited with an interest in the Uruguayan youngster and the situation appears to have advanced further since then.

Maxifoot now claim Bordeaux are willing to sell him should the Magpies offer up to £10.7 million, but more noticeably is that the club are said to have lined-up a potential replacement. "Bordeaux is willing to sell striker Diego Rolan this summer.

But for this to happen, Newcastle must be ready to offer £10.7 million.

To replace the Uruguayan, the Girondins have targeted Lorient’s Jordan Ayew.
