French outfit En Avant de Guingamp are in advanced talks with Chicago Fire to sign Ghanaian forward David Accam ahead of the new Ligue 1 season.

According to Yahoo France, Guingamp are close to finalizing a deal to bring in the 26-year-old to the Stade de Roudourou.

Las Costarmoricains are reported to have submitted a bid of $2.9 million to Chicago Fire for the former Helsinborg forward.

Manager Antoine Kombouare is keen to augment the side ahead of the impending campaign following their inconsistent performance last term in which they finished in tenth spot.

The club have already purchased South Africa international Lebogang Phiri from Brondby and would want to add ten-capped Ghanaian international to their squad.

Accam has scored 10 times this season for Fire after only 17 games including two assists as they hope to qualify for the playoffs.
