Frosinone boss praises team performance after Hellas Verona win

Published on: 17 April 2016

Frosinone coach Roberto Stellone praised his players after regaining the lead in the dying minutes to beat Hellas Verona.

Adriano Russo put the visitors in front, and despite Matteo Bianchetti scoring, captain Alessandro Frara netted in extra time.

“It was a great game today, where we suffered a lot and put a huge amount of effort in,” Stellone told the press post match.

The result takes Frosinone ahead of Palermo who were soundly beaten by Juventus, giving the Canarini some hope of survival.

“Verona were dangerous for much of the game, they have quality players and were unfortunate to concede in the extra time,” Stelone admitted

Arlind Ajeti and Leonardo Blanchard were both suspended while Paolo Sammarco and Federico Dionsi were also absent.

“The wins allows us to take great strides toward survival, I have to praise my players for giving that bit extra,” Stellone added.

“We will assess the conditions of [Paolo] Sammarco and [Federico] Dionsi, I hope they can help play a part.”

Frosinone’s remaining fixtures include tough meetings with AC Milan, Sassuolo and Napoli in their bid to remain in Serie A.
