Fulham to sign Nations Cup-bound Derek Boateng on loan

Posted On Thursday, 3rd January 2013

Derek Boateng is likely to join Fulham on loan

English Premier League side Fulham are close to a loan deal for Ghana midfielder Derek Boateng.

Fulham manager Martin Jol will look to make the deal permanent in the summer if he impresses.

Boateng has been warming the bench for his Ukrainian side FC Dnipro after managing only two appearances before the winter break.

Reports on Wednesday claimed, the 29-year-old was in London for a medical ahead of his switch.

If a deal sealed in the coming days, the former Getafe player will be available for Fulham after the African Nations Cup in South Africa.

He bas been named in Ghana’s provisional 26-man squad for their pre-tournament camping in Abu Dhabi.

Boateng nearly joined Fulham on deadline day in the summer but talks broke down much to the player’s disappointment.

  2. Fiifi, Berlin says:

Well he has now been given the chance to impress(thru his nomination to the AFCON 2013 by coach Appiah and MOST OF ALL thru the loan deal). Its left to him to grab both chances fully and make complete and best use of them. All the best and stay focused!!!

Through the Grace of Almighty Father, God, D.Boateng will have an injury free tournament at S. Africa and he will heavily impress to the astonishment of everyone and surely fulham will be his permanent destination as a team. Good luck!

afcon 2012, gh vs zambia at afcon 2012, gh vs zambia in ZAMBIA. WAT DID DEREK BOATENG DO? I DOINT EVEN UNDERSTAND WHY AA CALLED HIM IN THE FIRST PLACE. DEREK AND PAINSTIL SHOULD BE RETIRED FROM GBSTAR AT THIS POINT PAVING THE WAY FOR HUNGRIER, YOUNGER, FASTER PLAYERS TO TAKE OVER, BUT BCOS OF GREED THEY DONT WANT TO GO AWAY. IF FULHAM SIGNS DEREK BOATENG, HE BETTER GO AND PLAY FOR THEM AFTERALL, IF AFCON 2012 AND THE GH VS. ZAMBIA AWAY GAME IS ANYTHING TO GO BY. IT TELLS ME THAT DEREK WILL BE A TROTRO PASSENGER AT AFCON 2013. HE SHOULD GO WITH FULHAM AND LEAVE US WITH OUR PEACE OF MIND.
