Fulham to sign Nations Cup-bound Derek Boateng on loan

English Premier League side Fulham are close to a loan deal for Ghana midfielder Derek Boateng.

Fulham manager Martin Jol will look to make the deal permanent in the summer if he impresses.

Boateng has been warming the bench for his Ukrainian side FC Dnipro after managing only two appearances before the winter break.

Reports on Wednesday claimed, the 29-year-old was in London for a medical ahead of his switch.

If a deal sealed in the coming days, the former Getafe player will be available for Fulham after the African Nations Cup in South Africa.

He bas been named in Ghana's provisional 26-man squad for their pre-tournament camping in Abu Dhabi.

Boateng nearly joined Fulham on deadline day in the summer but talks broke down much to the player's disappointment.
