G6 title sponsors First Trust Savings and Loans hope to revive interest in the local league with the tourney

Title sponsors of the G6 Tournament, First Trust Savings and Loans have revealed the reason behind their decision to sponsor the upcoming G-6 tourney which will precedes the 2015/16 league season.

According to the sponsors they want to revive the interest in the local league which is facing a lot challenges hence their decision to sponsor the upcoming tournament.

The financial institution will sponsor the G-6 tourney organized by the Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA) which is scheduled to come off on the 7th January, 2016 at the Essipong Sports Stadium in the Western Region with an undisclosed amount.

Speaking at the event, Corporate Affairs Manager of First Trust Savings and Loans, Madam Ama Amoah Takoradi said: “We believe sports is a positive unifying medium locally or globally, irrespective of age, gender, political differences or ethnic when it comes to sports all barriers are dropped.”

“The passion exhibited by both fans and participants in the matter of sport is something which Is dear to us at First Trust Savings and Loans. We at First Trust therefore believe that being part of this tournament is not only an act of sponsorship but our means in helping to develop our local league,” She said.

GHALCA selected six teams including League Champions AshantiGold and 2013/14 champions Asante Kotoko. The rest include Hearts of Oak, Berekum Chelsea, Medeama and Aduana Stars.
