The Gabon sports and youth ministry has invited local music makers to submit samples of an official song for the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations.
The songs to be presented to a group of experts in view of selecting the official 2012 AFCON song and anthem, with six months to the start of the competition.
According to Gabonews, 42 songs have been received as of Wednesday and screening has begun with the selected melodies to be announced on 30 July.
Gabon will co-host the continental championship with Equatorial Guinea.
