EXCLUSIVE: Chelsea resume €30m Baba Rahman talks with Augsburg after FOUR-DAY collapse
Baba Rahman wants to leave Augsburg for Chelsea

Talks between Chelsea and German side Augsburg over the transfer of talented Ghana youngster Baba Rahman resumed on Sunday after negotiations broke down for FOUR DAYS over the fresh transfer fee demands of the Bundesliga side, GHANAsoccernet.com can exclusively reveal.

The talks between the two clubs for the right-back collapsed on Wednesday after Augsburg upped their demands to €30m as the transfer fee for the highly-talented player.

This came just one day after the player agreed personal terms with Chelsea awaiting for the deal to be ratified by Augsburg's agreement over the transfer sum.

However, the Bundesliga side rejected Chelsea’s €25m bid for the left-back confident that Chelsea will fork out for €30m to complete the transfer but the English stood their grounds.

Angered by the 'excessive demands' of Augsburg, Chelsea broke off negotiations to focus on their opening 2015/16 Premier League match against Swansea City, sources close to the deal told GHANAsoccernet.com

Keen to show that they are not desperate to sell the Ghana youngster, Augsburg played Baba Rahman in a German Cup game against a third division side on Friday, to force Chelsea to come up with a fresh offer.

But the agents of the Ghana player forced the two parties to return to the negotiating table on Sunday with the hope that the deal can be sealed this week.

The 21-year-old is desperate to join the Blues but Augsburg are fighting to exact maximum price in the transfer of the talented player.

Augsburg are insisting that Chelsea must meet their valuation of the player who only joined last summer from Greuther Furth on just 2.5m Euros.

So far, Chelsea have refused to budge but with a lack of defensive reinforcements available to Mourinho, it is anticipated that a compromise may be found in the coming hours.

Baba has been identified as the player José Mourinho wants to replace Filipe Luís, who has been sold back to Atlético Madrid after just a season at Stamford Bridge.
