Gershon Koffie is looking to help Vancouver Whitecaps regain pole position in the Western Conference of the MLS when they host Dallas on Sunday.

The Blue and White were knocked off top spot in the league following a 4-3 defeat suffered at Sporting KC in midweek.

Whitecaps are now just a single point behind LA Galaxy but crucially with a game in hand.

Koffie is looking win his first major silverware with his Canadian club who are in the finals of the Cup.

The Ghanaian youngster wants his side to win this weekend’s match to see them quickly return to the summit of the league.

“We’ve got to back up after we lost our last game,” he told GHANAsoccernet.com.

“We are also playing home so the win is very much needed and that is what all of us here want – to be back on top of the league.”

Eight games remain to end the regular season in the MLS.

The first five teams from each conference progresses to the post- season playoffs.
