Ghana FA President Kwesi Nyantakyi has revealed he was shocked to hear proceedings from Executive Committee meetings aired on radio in London.

The GFA boss was speaking to some of the challenges he faces as a non-executive President of the association.

Per the Ghana FA statutes, executive power is vested in the Executive Committee of 22 members and not the President.

This means the President of the association does not have the unilateral power to take key decisions such as appointments to positions.

Nyantakyi however revealed he also faces a challenge of loyalty amongst members of his Executive Committee where he appeared to have suggested sabotage.

The GFA boss made a startling revelation of hearing live recordings from Executive Committee meetings meant to be confidential being aired on a radio station in London.

“There are some challenges. For instance I was in London last week and was surprised to hear proceedings from our Executive Committee meeting on air,” he revealed to the Presidential Commission on Thursday.

“How did it get there? It will definitely be an Executive Committee member or a staff of the FA who was within the jurisdiction of the meeting.”

The Ghana FA have always had problems of leakages of vital information to the media.

This phenomena rose to prominence immediately after major changes were made in key national team management committees after the last Ghana FA general elections in 2011.
