Black Stars could play Congo in an international friendly

The Ghana FA says it is ready to accept an invitation from Congo to engage the Black Stars in a friendly match.

Congo made this request through the Sports Ministry for the grand opening of their newly built stadium for the 2015 All Africa Games.

It was unclear whether the Black Stars’ A team – especially the foreign-based contingent - would be readily available for the friendly match expected late August or early next month.

But the GFA says it is prepared to accept this invitation which came through the Sports Ministry.

“The request was made through the Sports Ministry and the GFA is also poised to honour this invitation,” GFA spokesman Ibrahim Sannie Daara said.

“They [Congo] want to play the Black Stars for the official opening of their newly built stadium for the All Africa Games.”
