GFA security chief descends heavily on Obed Owusu after Kotoko sacking

Ghana Football Association Security and Safety Committee Member, Ampim Darko has launched a scathing attack on sacked Asante Kotoko striker, Obed Owusu.

Reports from the camp of the Porcupine Warriors went rife on Friday that, the club has mutually terminated contracts of Obed Owusu, Saddick Adams, Yakubu Mohammed, Seth Opare, Edwin Tuffour Frimpong and Frank Sarfi Gyamfi for non-performance.

A section of their fans believe some of the players in the sacked list should have been maintained as the club aim to rescue their ailing campaign.

But Ampim Darko, who is an avid supporter of the Kumasi-based side, singled out Obed Owusu for smacking - claiming that the former Berekum Chelsea forward overstayed his welcome at the club hence should have been booted out long time.

"Obed Owusu has received more yellow cards than the number of goals he has scored since he joined Kumasi Asante Kotoko," Darko on Happy FM's Weekend Sports.

Owusu joined Kotoko at the start of the 2014/15 season from Berekum Chelsea but failed to glitter in the Porcupine shirt.
