Fred Crentsil has called the bluff of Congo coach Claude Leroy who accused Ghana of age-cheating in the 2016 Olympic Games qualifier.

Leroy’s team fell narrowly to the Black Meteors in the opening leg of the qualifier in Accra over the weekend but the Frenchman accused the hosts of cheating.

Only players under 23 years of age are eligible to play in the qualifiers for the 2016 Olympic Games to be staged in Rio.

But Leroy who coached Ghana between 2006 and 2008 says Ghana have flouted this rule by using over-aged players.

GFA Vice President Fred Crentsil in a sharp rebuttal insists the experienced French trainer has no basis to make such wild allegations.

“Was he [Claude Leroy] able to name the players who he claims are over-aged?” Crentsil quizzed.

“I will take whatever Claude Leroy says with a pinch of salt.

“Our records including the TMS [Transer Matching System] confirms that Ebo Andoh and indeed all our players are within the age bracket.”

Congo are yet to make their allegations officials with a complaint to CAF.

They will be hosting Ghana in the return leg of the qualifier this weekend.
