Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA) Chairman Kudjoe Fianoo has opened up on the reason why this year's President's Cup was moved to the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.

The annual event which has being played at the Accra Sports Stadium since its inception will for the first time be played at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.

And Fianoo has expounded that the decision came the sponsors end.

“The sponsors want a fully-packed stadium and they believe the Kumasi fans can do that at Baba Yara,” Fianoo told footballmadeinghana.com

“GHALCA is given GHC 50,000 to the participating teams as appearance fee for preparation. The competition is being sponsored by UBA and ANFD International.”

The match will be played on July 2 with President Akufo-Addo expected to grace the occasion.
